Antique 19th Century Wire Mesh Safety Glasses with Oval Tin Case.

Such a unique item! these glasses come with what is presumed to be the original tin case, which has wonderful patina. the glasses are black with a leather bridge connecting them. they have a red thread tied to one lens and a cotton, shoelace type strap tied to the other. i am unsure if either is original. the glass lenses are in great condition in that they are virtually free of any scratches. the tin case is extremely fragile and its measurements are 2 11/16" x 1 11/16" x 1 1/8". there are no maker marks on either piece however, the bottom of the tin has what i think are initials scratched into it. this is a great historical item that deserves to be preserved and displayed. selling as is. please see all of the photos. shipped using usps. thank you.
